Welcome to Class 5 and Class 6!
Our Curriculum Project for Autumn 1 2020 is Darwin Delights!
Ship ahoy! We are going on an exciting expedition this half term with Charles Darwin and his crew on the famous HMS Beagle. Can you trace his root across the vast ocean? We’ll take a stop at the magical Galapagos Islands to see the amazing species that helped Darwin develop his theory of evolution by natural selection.
Do you know what’s so special about a lava lizard? Or why the blue-footed booby has blue feet? See how animals adapt to their environment over time and meet some of the world’s greatest explorers and naturalists. Imagine how humans will evolve in millions of years. It’s a scary thought!
In English, we’ll be taking another trip as we travel down the exotic Amazon River town of Manaus. We’ll be reading the adventure story Journey to the River Sea, which will give us inspiration for our writing. This will include poems, journals, diary entries and even our own narratives, as we become swept up in the human intrigues and natural wonders of the world around us.
Why not go explore further at home by clicking on the links below? It’s time to discover the mystery of life with Charles Darwin.
