Curriculum Projects

Our Curriculum Project for Autumn 2 2019

Off with her head!

Follow us down the rabbit hole as we delve into the strange and wonderful world of Lewis Carrol and his book, Alice in Wonderland. We will be immersing ourselves in the language and characters and exploring the poem, Jabberwocky. In our topic sessions we'll meet a very important figure from history who gave similar orders as the Queen of Hearts - King Henry VIII. Online research will help us to write biographies about influential people of the Tudor period, and we'll use source materials to create a Tudor timeline. Tudor portraits will provide us with the inspiration to create royal paintings; we'll learn a courtly dance and compose Tudor music. Our geography skills will help us to compare maps of Tudor London to present day London and plot Anne Boleyn's journey to her execution.
